CRAP! Here we are. Again. New Year, new you – “bbyy” (blah, yadda yadda). How I loathe the New Year resolution overload. It’s like Groundhog Day, except it’s in years.
If I’m honest I would tell you I have lived most of my early adulthood with the mantra of “no expectations, no disappointments”. And although that served me well at the time, it’s only with age that my mindset has changed. It’s GOOD to set expectations and there can be fewer disappointments when you do!
This year instead jumping off the cliff of empty resolutions I’m creating a hit list of “methods” and I’m counting on them to drive me places I want to go.
Figure out what’s important – As a woman I tend to operate in the “it’s ALL important” zone. I need to change lanes.
Get specific – If I had a dollar for every time I said “I want to be healthier”, I would be living in the South of France with a full staff. S.P.E.C.I.F.I.C.
Look at the big picture – Taking things one step at a time is awesome but if you don’t see the cliff a few feet away…well….
Work from the inside-out - Make time to create a healthy relationship with myself, calm my mind and balance my soul.
Write it down – Time to create a vision board or journal expectations. Keeping it all in my head takes up too much RAM and the files tend to get buried in the day to day. Know what I mean?
Use power words – My mantra for 2015? “I’ve Got This”.
That’s the hit list and I’m kicking it off with the help of GaiamTV @MyYogaOnline. #CommitToYou Challenge! 21 days of powerful yoga classes and deep meditations to set the foundation for where I need to go.
