This past Thursday I put up the Facebook post above. I was pretty surprised to see the number of "Likes" and comments as Facebook is where I visit, not necessarily where I live. Someone commented "This is the first time I've ever seen you pissed off". That comment made me giggle and it made me think.
I hesitated with this post because it involves a number of hot button topics. I grew increasingly irritated watching social media "gurus" peddling their potions in regard to every hot topic that hit the press. Are you "organically" concerned or is this a strategy? Is this to build your Facebook page or just to intimidate your minions? Whoa to those who disagree for you'll never have the last word. Don't you know, you're not as smart as them.....silly minions!
Everyone should have a voice-
Prop 8 supporters should have their say, as should the Chick-fil-A dude. Sorry I don't think it's okay for one side to have an opinion and position and the other is badgered and trashed for theirs. That's a pile of dukey! I happen to have some very cherished relatives and friends that are homosexual AND I happen to have some very cherished relatives and friends that are Bible beaters. I love them for who they are not what they are. Yes, Kumbaya.
Sticks and Stones -
Calling someone out of their name for calling someone out of their name makes you look like a total jackass! Ooopsies I just called you a name!
Now about Paula - it's terrible period. I'm in the City of Chicago weekly. Not on the Gold Coast or Michigan Avenue but in the "THE CITY". I hear it within all races - it happens. On the streets, overhearing a conversation, in a song... "THAT" word is NOT just a word or lyric in a song. We need to recognize it's someone's pain - years of someone's struggle. We should have enough respect for ourselves and one another to know better.
Disclaimer: The word jackass was used here as an adjective.
Are you a goose or a gander -
Do you want someone coming in and telling you how to run your company, what your policies and rules should be, what your business model should look like and what your personal beliefs needs to align with?
Would you want someone coming in and trying to destroy your successful business because they didn't share your views or agree with your rules. You might say well I "don't"..... I know YOU think you're right but here's a newsflash for you - there will always be someone who disagrees.
Betchya don't know the ownership of everything you consume daily and what personal beliefs or views are involved. Betchya!
So that's what put the caw in my paw.
Are we sharing or are we "dictating". Are we thinking or are we "intimidating"? Are we confident or are we "arrogant"? Are we genuine or are we "manipulative"?
We might have to agree to disagree. I'm not your minion and your not my guru.
